Our Approach

At Native Peacekeeper Consulting Group (NPKCG), our work is grounded in partnership, respect, and practical solutions that support Tribal communities and organizations. We recognize that each Tribal nation and organization operates within a unique cultural, governance, and community context. Our approach is designed to honor that context while providing professional expertise that strengthens leadership, programs, and organizational systems.

Partnership with Tribal Leadership

We work collaboratively with Tribal leadership, public safety professionals, housing authorities, and organizational teams to understand the specific needs, priorities, and challenges facing each community or organization. Our role is to support—not replace—local leadership by helping organizations develop solutions that align with their goals and values.

Practical and Culturally Informed Solutions

Our work combines professional expertise with an understanding of Tribal environments. We focus on developing practical, culturally informed strategies that address real-world challenges while respecting Tribal sovereignty and community traditions.

Leadership and Workforce Development

Through the NPKCG Professional Development Institute, we provide leadership development, workforce training, and certification programs designed specifically for Tribal governments and organizations serving Indigenous communities. These programs are designed to strengthen leadership capacity and build strong, capable teams.

Strategic Guidance and Organizational Support

In addition to training programs, NPKCG provides consulting and advisory services that support organizational effectiveness, strategic planning, and program development. Our goal is to help organizations strengthen systems, reduce risk, and build sustainable operations.

Commitment to Community Impact

Everything we do is guided by a commitment to helping Tribal governments and organizations build strong leadership, resilient systems, and safer communities. We believe lasting impact comes through collaboration, shared knowledge, and a long-term commitment to supporting Tribal communities.

Our Emblem

Native Peacekeeper Consulting Group (NPKCG), Patchwork Emblem, represents the coming together of different elements or memories to create something new and whole. It symbolizes the value of tradition, craftsmanship, and resourcefulness. Being the first patchwork sewn together by our owner, Amy Osceola Latchford, the patchwork design holds sentimental value as it represents our history, family, and heritage.

NPKCG recognizes the importance of developing strategies for incorporating patchwork strategies into our approaches to achieving public safety. Our firm acknowledges that public safety in tribal communities cannot be achieved through a single agency or entity. Instead, it requires a collective effort of tribes, stakeholders, and community members.

Our Challenge Coin

A Keeper of Tradition

Woven into the identity of Native Peacekeeper Consulting Group (NPKCG), the Challenge Coin represents a legacy of service, cultural pride, leadership, and community resilience. It reflects the strength and enduring traditions of the Seminole Tribe and honors the heritage of our founder, a proud member of the Seminole Tribe of Florida and the Otter Clan.

The distinctive design of the coin draws inspiration from traditional Seminole patchwork, featuring dark blue, light blue, and white. Just as patchwork threads are carefully woven together to create a unified design, these colors symbolize the many roles and areas of service represented by NPKCG—from public safety and emergency response to leadership development, workforce training, and organizational support.

The patchwork stands as a powerful reminder of our connection to tradition and the importance of carrying forward Indigenous knowledge, leadership, and values while addressing the evolving needs of communities today.

A Keeper of Leadership and Safety

Turn the coin and at its center stands the Otter, representing the Otter Clan of our founder. Known for intelligence, adaptability, and strength in community, the Otter reflects the spirit that guides our work—bringing agility, insight, and unity to the challenges faced by Tribal governments and organizations.

The Otter carries the patchwork, symbolizing the blending of tradition, leadership, and modern professional practice that defines the work of NPKCG. Through training, consulting, and partnership, we strive to strengthen leadership, enhance public safety, and support resilient organizations and communities.

Encircling both sides of the coin is our guiding motto:

“Elevating Public Safety Today for a Safer Tomorrow.”

This motto reflects our roots in public safety while also representing our broader commitment to helping organizations and communities build systems that promote safety, stability, and long-term well-being.

Two feathers gracefully adorn the design, reflecting the colors of our organization. These feathers symbolize resilience, wisdom, and hope, reminding us of our responsibility to serve with humility, strength, and enduring commitment.
